RODO is a brand strongly tied to tradition, carrying on, for generations, quality manufacturing, the essence of each of its creations.

RODO's goal is to create a product that succeeds in adapting to trends while remaining iconic over time, this through its emphasis on quality materials and unique workmanship.

The bags and shoes, are entirely Made in Italy products that aim to convey the excellence, authenticity and research that have always accompanied the brand.

History

RODO was born in 1956, when Romualdo Dori, from his initials the name RODO, decided to found a brand of woven wicker and Wicker bags in Florence.

The success of his creations then led him to build the factory in Mogliano in the Marche region, a place of excellence in weaving, where he moved the business in 1961 and where leather bags, as well as woven bags, began to be produced. The exclusivity of the products is also given by the production, in the company's in-house machine shop, of all the metal accessories that complete the bags.

In 1973, Romualdo's sons, first Gianni and then Maurizio, joined the company.

In the early 1970s, in addition to Wicker and leather bags, crochet and metal bags began to be produced.

In 1975, footwear production was started in Florence and then moved to the Mogliano location.

The company over the years continued to expand its sales network, targeting international markets around the world, as well as cultivating the U.S. market in which the brand had established itself since its inception.

From 2010 onward, the third generation began to join the company, first Martina, Maurizio's daughter, who, following in her father's footsteps, joined him in stylistic design and the creation of the handbag and leather goods world.

Then Gianni's sons, Giorgio, who is in charge of art direction and shoe making, and Lorenzo who together with his father manages the sales area.

In 2012, the first RODO single-brand store was opened in Milan, on Corso Matteotti, and in the following years those in Jakarta, Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Beijing.

Weaving tradition

Wicker weaving is what has distinguished RODO's iconic craftsmanship since 1956; taking inspiration from the wicker baskets used in markets, it was decided to combine this workmanship with innovative design, original shapes and dyes, and sought-after metal accessories to create bags with a timeless taste.

In later years the use of weaving was also applied to various other materials, and then introduced to footwear as well, through woven buckles and heels.

Wicker accessories are strong features of the RODO summer collection, each year they are renewed in shapes and colors, always trying to convey the iconicity and quality of this workmanship that has been handed down for nearly 70 years.

Evening selection

Jewelry accessories have always been part of the RODO tradition.

Each season, RODO dedicates a selection of items to evening and ceremonial occasions, shoes and clutches, which are true jewels to wear.

Central to the evening collection is definitely the use of crystals, which are entirely hand-applied by artisans to create precious effects and patterns, but also the use of jeweled buckles that are renewed every season.

Numerous international celebrities over the years have worn the famous RODO clutches on the red carpets, which have become iconic for the brand.
