A fascinating story of ancient traditions and expert craftsmanship, this is Rodo's history. A maison known throughout the world with ancient roots that go back to Florence, to a small family-run workshop.
It all began in Lastra a Signa (FI) at the end of the 1950s from the passion and work of Romualdo Dori, who founded the manufacturing company in Florence, driven by the brilliant intuition to create handcrafted wicker handbags, from which the first Rodo item was born: a chic wicker basket with gold-plated metal trim.
At the end of the 1960s, the success of his creations took him to the Marche region, where building started on his new factory in Mogliano (MC).
The brand's flagship purses, clutches and evening handbags are precious caskets with sculptural shapes, admired by American stars from the very beginning. Handcrafted in precious leathers, fabrics and metal. Enriched with jeweled closures, refined engravings, characteristic weaves presented also on the handles, gold and silver plating, and hand-applied Swarovski crystals.
In the 1970s, when Romoaldo's sons Gianni and Maurizio joined the company, Rodo entered the footwear world, thus expanding its offer of high-end accessories, unique in design, quality and refinement.
Rodo's lively market presence and the high quality of its products have meant that, over the decades, the best shop windows in the most prestigious and exclusive shops and boutiques, in Italy and the USA, have been dedicated to Rodo.
Today, with Giorgio, Lorenzo and Martina Dori, the third generation is already part of the company.
